D&W Beach Haven Restaurant and Bungalows - Shwethaungyan Road

Our fav. Place to go in Myanmar to relax. We've lived in Myanmar for 4years and always recommend this place to everyobe we know and meet. It's clean, simple (in the way that they keep everything natural, environment friendly, but extremely high quality of everything) and the beach is super clean and rock free so a joy to swim there. Last but not least, THE FOOD is amazing. War war can make anything you want, maybe a few thousand kyat higher then a regular simple teashop in Myanmar , but the quality is that of a super fancy restaurant, so actually the price is very good! We've been here 5 times already in 4 years❤️ If we could, we would go every weekend!

Amazing getaway from it all. Best food I've had in Myanmar, having travelled the country for a year. Fresh seafood, fish and even lamb roast diner, all lovingly prepared by the most hospitable hosts. The warm welcome you receive, makes you feel like coming home to mama. Not to be missed.

An absolute must do motorbike trip at the very least. And stay if you are a couple! The place is absolutely charming and fairly remote. You'll feel like you've really found a place to get-away and enjoy some of the raw natural beauty that Myanmar still has to offer! The owners are warm soulful people and it reflects in the ambiance! I look forward to staying in the future!

Beautiful quiet beach bungalows, wonderful hosts, right on the ocean/Bay. Lots of seashells and crabs to look for, beautiful starry night sky. Bungalows are a little more rustic (like a glorified yurt if that's what you are used to) bathroom had open slats near the roof so lizards and spiders are common, but we didn't find any in the room itself, just the bathroom. A fun experience overall. They have wonderful food there also. A little pricey for locals, but not bad for foreigners.

We only visited the gorgeous beach-side restaurant but it was great! With its fluffy white sand and almost no people on the beach ? Ice cold beers and freshly prepped, delicious seafood ?

What a great place!! Can't recommend this little gem enough. Stayed 3 days in Dec 2017. Accommodation: simply furnished bungalows set only 50 meters from the water. The basic bungalows have solar power and cold showers, but I believe there are a couple bungalows with more amenities. But honestly the basic bungalows are fine. Comfortable beds, clean sheets, soft pillows, mosquito nets, etc. Food: the restaurant, which is where the free breakfast is served, is a covered pavilion set directly on the beach. The views are amazing, especially watching the sunset over the water. Each day was a different breakfast, but it was always fresh, clean, and tasty. Local cuisine plus eggs and toast. The mohinga was the best I've had in Myanmar! We also ate lunch and dinner. Every meal was tasty. We usually ordered the special of the day. One night was roasted lamb, chicken, and potatoes with gravy. Amazing! And cheap! Meals averaged 5,000MMK (3.50USD)!!! Dennis' wife Wa Wa is the genius in the kitchen. Overall, this is the best spot in Chaungtha. The main beach is overcrowded, dirty, smelly, and loud. At D&W you get a private beach, clean water, the best food (don't believe me? check Tripadvisor), and lovely hosts who do everything to make your stay better.

This fantastic pearl is worht a visit! Denis and WarWar - the owners are super friendly and really service-minded. My wife and I visited the place two times - for sunset (see picture) and dinner - and then for lunch and a quick swim at the amazing beach they have (see picture). The place is very cozy and laid back, exellent staff and they have BY FAR the best tea leaf salad! It is REALLY good! The payaya salad is also super nice! For drinking, I was recommended - by Denis - to try the pineapple / banana juice, and it was delicious! All in all the place is amazing, which is worth visiting, even for a one day trip from Ngwe Saung beach/area.
