★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent almost 2 weeks in Indawgyi with the face of Indawgyi team. Their knowledge of and connection to lake communities as well as the general Kachin region provided truly unique opportunities to join in on events and experiences that most travelers could not. Stephen and Patrick are kind and fun, and they were there for every step of the strip and answered questions and concerns we had. I look forward to coming back in the near future!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great time at Indawgyi Lake thanks to Face of Indawgyi, and ended up staying for 5 days. The trek in the mountains was great and we even got to see monkeys. They have lots of other activities to keep you busy like joining a shrimp fishing family at sunset, and are so helpful with general advice about your stay, definitely recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a solo traveller I met two gentlemen on a bus on my way from Yangon to Mandalay. Patrick and Stephen were easy to talk to from the get-go and incredibly helpful with lots of advice answering any questions I had. These two intelligent and interesting men are devoting themselves to creating an amazing organisation at Indawgyi lake. A must see the lake is surrounded by remote villages with local cuisine and merchandise. The place truly feel untouched by tourists which make the local experience all the better. I highly recommend face of indawgyi as they can show you and teach you about a Myanmar you might miss .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since the day I was interested in visiting Indawgyi Lake, Face of Indawgyi was the go-to place for information and advice. I emailed them via the website's email, and straight away Patrick (co-owner) give me detailed directions and personal recommendation on my itinerary, via email as well as a phone call.
When I got to Indawgyi, Patrick and fellow co-owner Stephen warmly welcomed my friend and I. We rented their bamboo bikes and based on their recommendations went off to explore the nearby villages!
During my six day stay I went kayaking to the floating pagoda, went jungle trekking (a serious adventure!), read, talked, cycled, even bought a sword, and eat Shanni food (highly recommend Ayee Theeda Restaurant's shan noodles!).
Patrick and Stephen are two guys truly committed for the long-run to this great, under-explored place.

The Face of Indawgyi team are really helpful and interesting guys who can provide you with scooter hire, english-speaking tour guides and other services to make your trip one to remember. I personally learnt a lot from these guys about the culture and myriad
of different people there are living around the lake. This is emphasised in their goal to create a sustainable tourist destination that benefits the local people and aids with the conservation of the area. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Indawgyi lake over the Thingyan break. This picturesque area is a must see for any keen explorers in Myanmar. Stephen and Patrick at Face of Indawgyi were incredibly helpful and responsive when it came to planning our trip. It is clear that they are very passionate about what they do. It is also impressive how knowledgeable they are about this unique environment and the communities living around it. The services they provide (we tried hiking and hiring a motorbike) were excellent and really allowed us to explore the lake in our own way. Thank you Stephen and Patrick - we will treasure our memories at Indawgyi and we cannot wait to visit again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed at the lake for a week. It was the highlight of my Myanmar trip because the Face of Indawgyi team helped me a lot! They have plenty of knowledge about not only the lakeside but also Kachin state, which is less known than other regions and are very passionate to share it with visitors and make them have new experiences. They are the first foreigners who settled down on this lakeside, but you will be impressed with how well involved in the community they are with local people. It gave me a lot of unique experiences I couldn’t even expect. I'm really looking forward to visiting again in the future!

This is a wonderful organization ensuring that the development of tourism in the area is being done in a responsible manner with money going into local people's pockets. I had a great experience renting a bamboo bike and doing a walk through the forest and fields with a guide who was knowledgable about the local plants and could relate some stories to me about the region. I also went for a relaxing boat trip to set out some shrimp traps. Indawgyi is a nature lover's paradise!
