Golden Guest Inn

Very friendly manager / owner - very clean - comfortable beds, air conditioned, decent bathrooms, breakfast prepared each morning and served to you in the main living area of the hotel. Spent a couple nights here with a missions team, very enjoyable.

My friend and me are planning to stay there since it came highly recommended by a friend and very near to MICT where we have to attend an event. But, when I called the guesthouse, a lady replied me rudely that foreigners only. I said my friend is a foreign passport holder of Burmese decent. Then, she said they have "NO BURMESE " policy. I asked in agoda, the property doesn't said that and should we cancel. Then, she replied that we can stay in that case with very arrogant and unwelcoming tone.I said I am not comfortable with the way I have treated and then she replied "can't help" and hung up the phone. I am so surprised to witness a property establishing in Burma has a very strong dislike of it's own people which make me really doubtful the authenticity of this Inn. So, stay here if you are happy with this kind of attitude and support discrimination.

Golden Guest Inn is a safe and secure environment. I never once had to worry about my luggage getting stolen, because the owner's wife personally keeps an eye on the housekeepers. The manager, Ted, is a sweetheart, and takes care of any need or want you may have. There is an ATM located conveniently inside the inn. Hot showers are available! The air conditioning is amazing especially during Myanmar's notorious hot season. During Water Festival (Myanmar's New Year), there is an amazing restaurant next door that is one of the only restaurants open in the entire city! The bus stop is literally outside the property which makes getting downtown a breeze. There is a small convenient store a few hundred feet away, and an amazing grocery store within walking distance of .8 miles (1.28 km) away. The rooms are quiet which ensures a full rest. I highly reccomend Golden Guest Inn be your next stay!

The owner personally manages this family Guest House. He was the most helpful manager of any Guest House or Hotel I have every stayed in in Yangon. It has everything it advertises to have. To my amazement and to help with managing the difficulty that can be experienced with foreign currency the Guest House accepted my Visa Card. I have rebooked in there on my way back to Australia and would defiantly recommend it to others. The only negative thing about the place is the location it's on the main Insein Road. However the wonderful old heritage style building is set well back off the road in a nice garden setting. # This is a new review dated the 14th July 2017 as I have just returned from another trip to Burma / Myanmar. As I wrote before I rebooked for my son and I for a night on our return journey to Australian via Rangoon / Yangon. Stayed the night before flying home. The service was as we expected first rate.**** On this most resent visit to Chin State Burma / Myanmar four of us went. On our return journey from Nyaung Oo we went directly to the GGI ( my son had pre booked ) where the four of us stayed for two nights. My two friends who had not been to Burma or Rangoon before were as impressed with the accomodation, the Owner manager, the staff, the food and the service as I have been. I certainly recommend the GGI. My son, his wife and several of their younger children and myself will be making a return visit to Mindat Chin State in December this year. If we need accommodation in Rangoon / Yangon either on our way up or on our return we will certainly stay at the GGI.

LOVE this place! Every room has a fridge, a/c unit and nice sized tv. The wifi quality is the best I have ever experienced anywhere in Yangon. There is much more space here compared to downtown hostels. The staff were so flexible in meeting our needs!

What a wonderful discovery in Yangon. The owner and manager Tet made us feel so very welcome and took care of all our needs. We quickly discovered this was the chosen destination of many travelers who make regular trips to Yangon. The food is wonderful, the rooms are clean and cool and the staff is a family you will enjoy. Tired of staying at places where you cannot understand the staff, the Golden Guest Inn management speaks fluent English and is very helpful in understanding local customs and even conducting business.

This is a hotel that I've been recently introduced to, and it has not disappointed at all. It's a converted colonial house, with rooms in both the front and back wings. Rooms are generous, and though the furniture may be classic teak wood, the amenities are not lacking at all: coffee and tea sachets, coffee maker + coffee powder + filter paper without extra charge! The power strips are universal so you don't have to worry about the type of plugs you have. Breakfast is ordered thru a menu, where both western and local breakfast is available. The only reason that I did not give it a full 5 stars was that it's a little out of the way for me. I'm a business traveller who had most meetings around town and surrounding. Still, this is a place no traveller should miss!

I would want to share our wonderful experience in Yangon, Myanmar. We went there last March 14 to March 17, 2019 to do Leaders Training Weekend. Since it is our first time in Myanmar we don't know the place but our friend Teacher Mang recommended us to stay in Golden Guest Inn and it was a great experience for me and my wife. First, let us start with the price, for less than US$150 for 4 days and 3 nights it is definitely a winner. Plus lots of freebies in the room like water, coffee, tea etc. The reception is very accommodating and Ted was very helpful in booking our Grab wherever we go. He always makes it a point that the driver knows where to take us and even talks to the driver just to be sure. Our room is always kept clean, tidy with clean sheets. Our friends who visited us were surprised with how affordable and yet our room is big enough, comfortable and safe. We definitely recommended Golden Guest Inn to our friends who are visiting Yangon and will continue to recommend them because its like our second home away from the Philippines. You will definitely prove me right once you visited and stayed in Golden Guest Inn.
