Hill Top Resort

We stayed at Hip Top, it's really nice Bungalows located 5 minutes by walking to the main beach in Ngwe Saung. But: Only cold water, bathroom lock broken, not clean, bungalow need repairs. Close to mainroad, noisy. Wi-Fi not work, electricity works only between 8:00AM and 6:00PM. Neighbor hotel using generators all night, noisy and not easy to sleep. Cold shower can be really chill in Feb. What really bothered us was we arrived at 3pm at night, was coldly treated by the owner who was still up for chi-chatting with girls, but refused to tell us we could use the hammocks to crush on until next morning. but watching us wandering around and finally squeezing us on cold bench. Yet, officially we can check in @12:00, but until 12:30am the rooms were still not ready for us. Ironically, asked us to check at 10:30 am for freeing the rooms for the ones who were waiting for checking in. Hill Top is a very good deal compared to the accommodations in Ngwe Saung, but it doesn't mean I have to bear with the bad attitude and service. So I don't recommend to stay there.

Stayed here last February and had an amazing time. The beach of Ngwe Saung is beautiful and still quite undiscovered. The owner of Hill top made sure we had a good time and also brought us a couple of times to the only beach bar on the whole beach (which he also owns) with some really nice guys behind the bar!

Basic wooden hut with cold water and mosquito net. Very close to the beach. (What more do you need at the beach side!) Very reasonably priced. Good a la carte breakfast with perfect coffee from the Shan state. Arrival is mostly by night bus, so it's good to ring ahead to see if it is possible to check-in really early, or to book the night of your arrival.

We came to the top hill resort to try the special mojito. Jimmy the manager made them and other cocktails amazingly well. He entertained with a fireshow, played music we liked and even cooked for us delicious fried fish. We decided to stay one night in a bungalow. Which was basic, with a bathroom and a mosquito net. The generator was running during the night so we could have the fan on. The generator made some noice. I could sleep very good but if you're sensitive I would recommend to sleep somewhere else and just visit Jimmy and his amazing Bar. P.s even shisha is available.

It was a pleasure to stay at this lovely place. Great people, awesome atmosphere, good location. It was 5 min walk to the beach by Lovers Island. We stayed at the very top hut and the view was nice. Loved the garden. The food was really good. The Papaya salad was fresh from their garden. Fresh seafood. Really great hosts. They picked us up from the previous guest house. They did everything to make us feel welcomed. The bycicles were available for free use. I hope to come back.

Very nice and friendly place located literally 3 minutes from the beach! Staff is amazing, make you feel welcome and do everything they can to make your stay special. They organise boat trip, delicious BBQ and taxi in case needed. You must try the restaurant, everything made from scratch and fresh!!

We enjoyed staying here very much. It’s literally across the road from the beach (a 2 minute walk). The slightly quieter end. Some nice restaurants along the road and also the hotel itself has a great restaurant. Every morning we loved the breakfast that was included. Always a surprise and then also lovely fresh fruit. The rooms were simple and perfect for what you need. We will certainly be back to stay again.

That’s a great place and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The cabins are so cute and maculated clean. It was hot the time we were there but inside with all windows and location you don’t really feel it. We had a very good sleep. Breakfast is also good with choices between western and local style. We really enjoyed the place and wished we had more time there. The dog Lucky is the cutest one in the entire beach place.
