★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a big hotel. But spacious enough. Clean. Staff are helpful. Breakfast is just ok, with a limited menu to choose. Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from market place. Overall, quite ok to stay but I don't know about other hotels in Katha.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed 3 wonderful nights at the Hotel Katha and was very pleased by the very helpful and overly friendly staff. Especially the manager Ko Thet was great organising onward tickets and Hotel reservations very professionally meeting all my individual needs. I highly recommend the place. They have a beautiful tropical garden where one can relaxe and hang out and read during the day. I loved it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great hotel. Well located (under a minute from George Orwell's house) and it is staffed by efficient and caring hotel employees. They arranged a decent mountain bike for me for under 2USD a day, and the breakfast is fine. The AC is strong, too! They can point you toward local points of interest, help you organize your onward travel and even give you a lift on a motorcycle to catch the 5am ferry to Mandalay. I can't recommend this place enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: The facilities were adequate, and the staff tried to provide a good experience for the customers. There was a variety of food available for order on the menu.. Negative: We took a long trip from the north to reach Katha, and were worried about transportation from the city of Naba to the hotel. The bus dropped us off abruptly and despite the hotel’s insistence that there would be many cars and taxis, we were in a remote location with nothing in sight. We called the hotel but reached only the reservation office in Yangon, which didn’t help. Eventually a pick up truck came along and we crammed into the back of it. Upon our arrival, we found that the requested room and bed size was not available. When we were leaving we spoke with the reception to arrange a bus. They said it was a big bus and that is why the price was so expensive. However, what arrived was only a small, beaten up white van with a mysterious looking driver. We were concerned. However, the bus did take us to our destination..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best Hotels in Katha, Kachin State, Myanmar. The building design is old fashioned, but attractive. The hotel garden is wide and clean. The environment here is very nice for walking or jogging. The hotel location is very good to access other places easily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was not big but spacious enough. It was very nice and clean. Located about 400 meters from the bustling town center, market and pier. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We stayed here two nights. We had to catch 5 a.m. express ferry to Mandalay. They took us there by hotel car. The driver insisted on not accepting tip saying he was doing his job. They even packed breakfast to take with us to ferry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: Very nice staff!! And great help from mister ko Thet, who helped me a lot Findling my way through thw town - including a Personal tour of some buildungs from George Orwell!! Thanx a lot!! Very nice kolonial style of the house!! Good food and drinks in the nice garden and Restaurant!! ?. Negative: Too small Single room for me - next time i will take one of the nice big rooms!!.
