★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best place to stay in Mandalay . I spent my 7 days in Mandalay and i enjoyed a lot there in the kaungs hostel . So nice of the staff they were friendly and nice . I rent the motorbike for 15,000 per day and you can go around everywhere to Mandalay hill and sanda muni temple they are all near . They have free fast wifi everywhere Inside . They have gaming room , reading room , computer room and a kitchen so woow. Must go there .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pro: goo location, cheap single rooms, good lounge areas
Cons: very few shared showers for everyone, bathroom wastebaskets rarely emptied (not once in the 3 days I was there, ew!), staff speaks very limited English, towels for rent (even for private rooms which are more expensive), terrible breakfast (and I have low standards for breakfast!). OHHH and hot water is limited to just a few hours a day!!! Two hours in the morning and two hours at night. I don’t know who thought that was a good idea but they should be fired.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely place with a very good location. Clean, confortable and quite rooms. Simple but good breakfast. Helpful staff. Possible rent bike and things like towels and powerbank. Bathroom with hairdryer. Have common area and a mini library as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top location, nice rooms (space for your stuff, nice beds with enough “privacy”). Unfortunately the cleanliness was improbable; The bathrooms were not cleaned for 3 days (there was a toilet you could tell of that it wasn’t cleaned...), there were ants in the rooms and beds and the breakfast area was also not cleaned for once (trash was overflowing, dirty dishes). All in all the whole space was a bit stuffy, some fresh air (opening windows would have been nice).
However for the price it still was reasonable:)

Okay location (nearby Mandalay palace and train station), okay breakfast, hot water , laundry shop just cross the street 1000kyat, helpful staffs, clean enough(just sometimes toilet is not flushed , if you are unlucky, you will happen to see some dirty stuffs from the toilet..haha..), horrible soundproof(it was like no wall between the rooms.. i could hear almost every sound from the next room), basically it was comfortable though! (Plus, there's an amazing korean restaurant with reasonable price nearby, about 15min by walk)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked the 8 bed room, on arrival was shown to a 4 bed room which was nice.
The bed was comfortable but the room was tiny, prison cell beds. There were toe nail clippings all along the bed, weird stains along the bed frame, dirt smudges on the walls and dust covering the rest...
The bathrooms weren't in the best condition either. Booked 3 nights but could only stay 1! Told the girls in reception and asked for a refund. They said the cleaner wasn't available yesterday and that I got upgraded to a smaller room, no apology. Disgusting place, avoid at all costs!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I liked the staff who worked here, and two of the receptionists spoke an excellent level of English. Beds were comfortable although the space between the beds was very limited. The breakfast felt like an afterthought though there was enough to share. The water was cheaper than you buy it in the street, which was just great. However, there were two serious problems for me; one, there was no community chill or lounge/sofa area, only the breakfast seating table and chairs. Which was a shame. Though it didn't matter that much as the second problem negated the need to be sociable with the severely limited air conditioning times. This meant it was so very often, so very uncomfortable to be even sat in the hotel ..
