★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a newer hotel only open about 2 months as of July 2018. It's run by a Scottish man and his Myanmar partner. The place is spotless... Top notch bathroom, beds, tv with 1 English movie channel, breakfast included as a mix of Myanmar and western food. This was the cheapest room we could find and by far the cleanest and best.. a gem! Hopefully the prices stay as they are, because this place will set the new standard in new Bagan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived at bagan and we were looking for a place to stay. This place was very welcoming, the staff was very nice and helped us with pretty much everything. The room quality was very high and resembled a real hotel. Rooms were clean once a day, towels were changed and overall very hygienic. Rooms have balcony, minibar, air conditioner and very comfortable bads. The rooms included free coffee and drinking water. A very nice lobby and yard including table tennis, chessboard and traditional makeup. Breakfast included, buffet pretty reach and tasty. The location is pretty good and Good price. We had a great time, I can't stress enough how nice and helpful the staff was. highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What makes this place special are the people that run it. The owner is a foreigner with a Burmese wife. They are so helpful, easy going and down to earth. He built the hotel western style with outlets next to the beds and wifi in the rooms. He also has a huge generator out front for when the power goes out ( which happens often ). The breakfast is basic but good & is on the rooftop. The rooms are clean, new & comfortable. Love the towels and comforter & pillows. Very hot water in the showers. The hotel is in a very local area, which I loved and it was close enough to walk to the restaurants. You can also have pizza delivered to the hotel. We'd stay there again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is our best stop when traveling in Myanmar and India. It’s super clean, with everything we needed (toothbrushes, clean towels, soap and tea). The breakfast is delicious with a combination of local and western food. Front desk helps to book e-bikes, taxis etc. The owners of the Guest House are a lovely couple who’re present and always willing to help.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best places we stayed in Myanmar. Big, clean rooms with a desk and balcony (with chairs). Great garden outside and rooftop breakfast space. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Rented ebike and could walk to restaurants and tea houses. This guest house is a few blocks away from the main road, so it was quiet and felt like you were in a Burmese town (and not a tourist town) yet only minutes from anything you need. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good night's sleep!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the stay at Morning Star Guest House. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Owner speaks English well. He provides great tips about restaurant and shops. You can also rent e-bike directly from the guest house, very convenient. We have some booking issue with agoda. When we arrived, the owner is willing to honor the price and give us a big room since all the other room has been occupied. The place is in a smaller street, so it’s very quiet, but still very convenient to reach and go around. I also love the free buffet breakfast. It’s very good quality and good value. Definitely go back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice and clean rooms. The entire Hotel is build in a Bauhaus style. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Good selection of western and local breakfast is offered on the relaxed rooftop terrace. The Morning Star Guest House is a perfect location to explore old Bagan by borrowing some E-Scooter riding from pagoda to pagoda. We had a great time :)
