The 1,300-mile-long Irrawaddy River originates at the confluence of the [[Kachin State]] tributaries of the [[Maykha River | Maykha]] and [[Melika River | Melika]] and flows south [twenty-eight miles above [Myitkyina]] at the confluence of the Irrawaddy. [[Myitsone area]] is rich in gravel and clear. The water of Myitsone is cold. The water of Myitsone is cloudy and clear, so if you look into the water, you can see big and small fish swimming.
The Irrawaddy River is about 500 yards wide around Myitkyina. Here the cliff is quite steep and there are forests on the cliff. The branches are green and wet. Near the village of Tahona, 48 miles from Myitkyina, is a small stream that flows into the Ayeyarwaddy Mountains west of the jade and amber mines and joins the Irrawaddy River. Since then, the river has become more winding. Rocks near Manfwa village appear in the middle of the river.
