★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not possible to enter from the south, east or north. Day after when we finally arrive to west gate was closed for tourists. Not really tourist-friendly

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a grand ground the palace stands on with some nice looking but hollow buildings. The 10.000 kyat entrance fee seems a bit ripoff. We did meet a eager young student who loved to talk and tell us about the place!
Remember to go up the tower in the left lower corner when you've entered the palace. Great view over the complex.
