★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Formerly known as St. Patrick's High School, it was one of the all-boys schools in Myanmar (Burma), founded by the De La Salle Brothers, a Roman Catholic order.
In April 1965, when Gen. Ne Win's military government nationalized private schools, the school was renamed to Basic Education High School (BEHS) No. 5 Mawlamyine.
The photos show the sad state of the buildings after years of lack of maintenance since the school has been nationalized. Hence, my two stars rating!
