Northern Breeze Hotel

Stayed in the 3 bed female dorm December 2018 for $12.50 per night. It's a mid-range local place that has dorm rooms on the roof. A female and a male room with three beds each. Another reviewer said the AC wasn't powerful. The back wall of those roof rooms is on the East, so it does get hot. It was fine during my cooler season visit and I used the AC a little. Yes, the hot water may finish up, and the wifi isn't terrific but you're in Myanmar! There is one bathroom and one shower room for the dorms but I never found it to be a problem. Breakfast is served 6:30-9am. It is buffet style. Everyday there was: 1. Eggs to order (fried, omlette, over easy, boiled) 2. Bread - white and brown slices, and yummy crescent rolls (plus a toaster and toaster oven) with gross margerine but yummy jams (strawberry and marmalade) 3. 2 fresh fruits per day- usually watermelon and one other like honeydew or papaya 4. Local soup you assemble yourself (noodles, broth, toppings) 5. Fried rice, white rice, fried noodles (either wide or thin), plus Sticky rice (black and white) 6. Fried tomato and potato slices 7. Some kind of stir fried vegetables- always a highlight 8. Tea and coffee and "juice" (avoid) Staff were great during my visit as well. Pleasant place. Motorbike rentals and laundry are more expensive than outside places.

Nice and clean place in almost centre of the New Bagan (around 5km to Old Bagan). The staff is very helpful and polite (as almost in every part in Mjanmar). The place has own small pool but not really for swimming. It's rather for sitting :) but that the bonus. The breakfast is served on the roof and that is cool. However the price is not the cheapest one for this type of hotel and any additional service (e-bike and laundry) were quite costly. What is more WiFi is very slow so that is disadvantage (or advantage depending on what You are looking for).

Hotel is located next to the main road where are shops, bank and a lot of restaurants. Our room was comfortable, clean and cozy. Breakfasts were served at the roof of the hotel. Staff changed towels and made our bed every day what was good. There is a possibility to get a laundry service at the hotrl but it's cost is high - 500 Ks per a T-shirt!!!!! Also renting e-bike was quite expensive - 6000 Ks (at the street you may find it for 4000 Ks.). The biggest disadvantage of the hotel is Wi-fi connection. During our stay wifi almost didn't work. When we told about it at the reception desk we were told that it is normal that at their hotel one time there is wifi connection and second time there isn't. If we had known that before our stay we would not booked this hotel.

Cheaper option around there but good for value. Has E-Bike rental and other touring services. Pool is small. The building is quite new and clean too. Reception staff could have been friendlier though.

Probably the best place I've slept at in all of Myanmar (lower budget traveller couple). Staff is extremely nice and accommodates you as soon as you walk in through the beautiful door. We got a surprise discount after paying the normal price, which is very unexpected in a place where people tend to scam you wherever they can. The breakfast is really good, offering a variety of western and Burmese food. Super happy with the choice, especially because its in the same price bracket as the more popular hostels here in New Bagan.

Very professional and friendly staff. Big and very modern rooms for very low prices. Also very flexible: We arrived at 4am in the morning, could use the room and were only charged for the breakfast. The facilities were flawless and even stylish. We (1 couple, 1 male, 25-31 years old) liked it all very much. The breakfast was ok, but compared to others not the best of our stay in Myanmar. Still 5 stars!!

Don’t book here if you are sensitive to noise! The place itself is fine. The prices are fair, however there’s one big caveat: the water pump for the reservoirs on the roof. It activates in a regular interval of about once a minute and runs for a couple of seconds before turning off again. All night long. I endured for two nights with about four hours of sleep each, before cancelling my third night. They cancelled without hesitation and just changed my booking from three to two nights. That was okay. I then spent two more nights at Bagan HMWE hotel which was very nice and quiet.

We stayed as a small group of a family over last weekend. The room is fair for the price. However, the hotel just wants to make money before they are serving the guests. One of the bath towel was spilled with some coffee accidentally by my son. I informed this to the hotel staff immediately so that can take care of it before it gets stained. In the evening when we came back from outside, the receptionist asked us 10,000 MMK for the towel because they cannot remove the coffee stain and cannot use it any longer but they offered us we can take the stained towel. I insisted coffee stain can be removed easily as it happens to me frequently but they reject. I paid 10,000 MMK for the towel upon check-out and took the towel. We could wash the coffee stain at home easily. In addition, breakfast was very poorly managed. The restaurant staff made an apology for improper management because of many guests and insufficient staff - but it shouldn't be an excuse. I wouldn't recommend booking at this place.
