This is a one of the elephant camp of visitor attraction.Road is good and saloon car can drive smoothly. There are 12 numbers of elephants are left in this camp. Now log production is stopped since 2014.Taking a tour in jungle with elephant riding is about 20min long and 5000kyat/person( 4USD). You can feed elephants by buying the food.(One plate banana or sugar canes is 3000kyats.). Elephants prefer ripe banana than sugar cane.Elephants show can be requested by paying charge.( for local group =35000kyats/show , for foreigner's group =50000kyat/show.)

Eco resort in famous Bago Yoma teak plantation. Situated on the way from Thar Gara to Pyi near Pauk Khaung. Only 4 miles drive from Yangon Mandalay highway. Saw a cute new born cub among them. Elephants help men carry the logs and they are also taken care by men.

This elephant camp is a waste of time. Getting there is not easy. Even the Burmese driver that I had hired had a tough time finding the place. Once we got there, it took us a while to find a groundskeeper. Once we located one, all he was interested in was a 10-dollar entrance fee that he couldn't justify because nobody on site spoke English. There were only a few elephants available, but most of them were in chains. All in all a very disappointing experience.

We went in the rainy season. The roads there were good, no problem getting there. At the beginning the staff was not very responsive and no one speaks English (our car driver gave us a bit of help there). After paying for the entrance and for the elephant ride, things started to develop a bit more. We were slightly disappointed because the elephants do not seem to be as free in the wild as we expected from a sanctuary. Nevertheless, the ride and seeing the elephants bathing in the river made it worth it.
