★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had a look. Did not catch the train. I think Pyinmana city is a good option to stay to visit Nay Pyi Taw. Only two hotels but cheaper than in the huge spread out capital city. Pyinmana is still Myanmar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They're very protective of foreigners (watch you very closely, even if you get up to buy a drink or throw trash they ask you to sit down) ?.
If you call their phone number and give your name+nationality they'll write you an informal reservation (you still gotta go get a hand-written ticket before departure).
Only using one platform, seems the other one just has people sleeping on it.
No good food options on-site but the little snack shop has the refrigerator so cold that the drinks are supercooled.
