★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There were 2 guys just parked on the street waiting for customers. The one gentleman I went to assessed my shoe (partial tear near the upper laces) and re-sewed it and glued it together in 2 minutes and cost me K500 - which is less than .50 cents American!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Back in January 2019, my wife needed repairs to her tramping boots due to the bottom layer of rubber starting to de-laminate. We spent ages walking up and down the street in extreme heat and humidity under blazing sun but eventually found the repair man on the side of the footpath with his wife. There was no English language signage, just (presumably) something hand written in Burmese on a scrap of cardboard
He quickly glued up the sole with a clear solution and charged a tiny amount which we happily paid with a good tip. Two years later after a lot of hiking, the shoes are still in excellent condition and it seems the repair will last the life of the shoes. You could not imagine a more humble business than this and yet he achieved a permanent repair; something that a vastly flasher New Zealand business failed to do after 3 attempts.
