"စန္ဒမုနိ "ဘုရားသမိုင်းအကျဥ်းကတော့ ရာဇဂြိုလ်ပြည်မှာ အဇာတသတ်မင်း မြုပ်နှံထားတဲ့ မြတ်ဗုဒ္ဓရဲ့ ဓါတ်တော်တွေကို သိရိဓမ္မာသောကမင်းက သူရိယစက္ကမင်းဆီ ပေးပို့ခဲ့တယ်။ သူရိယစက္ကမင်းဟာ ဘီစီ (၃၀၈) ခုနှစ်မှာ ဘုရားရှင်သွန်းလုပ်ခဲ့တဲ့ စန္ဒမုနိပုံစံအတိုင်း သွန်းလုပ်တည်ထားခဲ့တာလို့ သိရပါတယ်။ (၁၈၂၆) ခုနှစ် အင်္ဂလိပ်-မြန်မာ ပထမစစ်ပွဲအပြီးမှာတော့ ရခိုင်ဒေသဟာ ကိုလိုနီလက်အောက်ကို ရောက်ခဲ့ရတယ်။ အဲဒီလိုအချိန်မှာ အင်္ဂလိပ်တွေဟာ ကြေးဆင်းတုနဲ့ခေါင်းလောင်းတွေ၊ ကြေးထည်တွေကို လက်နက်ကြေးအမြောက်လုပ်ဖို့ သိမ်းယူကြတယ်။
ဒီအခါမှာတော့ ရှေးလူကြီးတွေဟာ စန္ဒမုနိရုပ်ပွားတော်ကြီး အန္တရယ်ကင်းရေးအတွက် နေရာတွေရွေ့ပြောင်းပြီး အင်္ဂတေတွေ မံခဲ့ကြတယ်။ နောက်ပိုင်း နှစ်အတော်ကြာမှ ဗန္ဓုလကျောင်းတော်မှာ မျက်နှာတော်ကွာကျပြီး မူလကြေးဆင်းတုတော်ကို ဖူးမြော်ခွင့်ရရှိတာပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
အံတော်မြတ်ကတော့ လွန်ခဲ့သော နှစ်ပေါင်း (၉၀) ကျော်က အံတော်သိမ်ပုထိုးတော်ကြီးအတွင်း ဘုရားဌာပနာ ဖောက်ထွင်းနေသူကို ဖမ်းမိရာက ငွေကြုပ်တစ်ခုအတွင်း စိန်ဘုရားတစ်ဆူနဲ့ ဗုဒ္ဓအံတော်မြတ်ကိုရရှိခဲ့တာလို့သိရပါတယ်။ နောက်ပိုင်းမှာတော့ အများပြည်သူတို့ ဖူးမြော်လို့ရအောင် ဗန္ဓုလကျောင်းတော်မှာပဲ ကိန်းဝပ်စံပါယ် ပြသထားတာပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
ကျောင်းဝင်းထဲက ပြတိုက်အသေးလေးမှာလည်း သမိုင်းဝင် ရှေးဟောင်းဆင်းတုတော်တွေ၊ ရခိုင်ဒင်္ဂါးနဲ့ရှေးဟောင်းပစ္စည်းတွေကို လေ့လာလို့ရပါသေးတယ်။

Sandamuni Pagoda Temple
At Bandula Monastery in Mrauk-U, one can visit the great "Sandamuni Pagoda" worshiped by Rakhine King Thuriya Sakka and Queen Rusita Devi, and the lower left hand of the Buddha can be seen by asking the monks for permission.
According to the history of "Sandamuni" Buddha, King Thiridhammathaka sent the relics of the Buddha buried by King Ajatasattva in Rajagopal to King Thuriya Sakka. It is said that King Thurya Sakka made the model of Sandamuni cast by the Buddha in 308 BC. After the First Anglo-Burmese War in 1826, Rakhine State came under colonial rule. At that time, the British made bronze statues and bells. Copper was confiscated to make weapons.
At this time, the ancients moved to safeguard the sandstone statue and plastered it. Many years later, he was allowed to see the original bronze statue at the Bandula Temple.
The Buddha was found breaking into a pagoda more than 90 years ago and was given a diamond pagoda and a Buddha image in a coin. Later, it was displayed at Bandula Temple for the public to see.
There is also a small museum on the campus with historical statues and relics. You can also study Rakhine coins and antiquities.
