★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Set on top of Sagaing Hill, Soon U Pon Nya Shin Paya is not a particularly large or impressive pagoda in the Burmese style. What it lacks in grandeur, it makes up for in its location at the top of the hill overlooking large parts of the surrounding areas. On a good clear day, the view from the pagoda extends for miles. Of particular interest is the very colorful tile work of the terraces, a distinctive gate and an ornate yellow clock tower.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the most beautiful pagoda complex in the region. It is on the hill top and the ourney is so beautiful. The weather should be pleasant of your day trip as it can be hot on a sunny day. There is a lot of shade in the complex.
On one side, you can see the mighty Ayyerawadi river separating the Mandalay and Sagaing regions and on one side you can see small and large goldene pagodas spread over the whole region.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful pagoda located on top of Sagaing hill. It can only be reached by climbing over 300 steps. However shoes can be worn until right below the monastery. The top offers beautiful views of the Sagaing bridge, Mandalay city and the Irrawaddy river.
