Nice camp , good for visit

Glad to say we had the elephant experience we were looking for, which came as a bit of a surprise because the access road is somewhat treacherous! Despite the lack of English spoken/used by staff, we were able to get by with nods and smiles, and the interaction we had with the elephants felt natural. A bit more information for visitors, and basic facilities would push it up to 5-stars. But if you're prepared for a little adversity, this camp should be on your list.

One of the best elephant camp in Myanmar . Because of the twin baby elephants are very cute and only one male and female pair twin . Unique and valuable working elephants are now staying in the more than 20 camp , because of no more permission for timber production . I want to suggest to visit there , for camp stay elephants surviving .

Opening Ceremony of Shan Yoe Ma Elephant Camp was held on the 13th of February, 2018, which is the Myanmar Children Day as well as the birth day of Myanmar National Leader General Aung San. Four of the local Shan State Government's ministers attended the opening ceremony together with the Managing Director of the Myanmar Timber Enterprise which is the owner of all the elephants and the staffs of the camp. The camp is situated in Kalaw Township in Southern Shan State and the entrance is situated near the mile stone No. 54/3 in the Nam Pan Tak Village near the border with Mandalay Region. There are 8 elephants in the camp including a mother with a pair of her 4 months old twins elephants. Shan traditional style noodle is available for the breakfast and the lunch.

Amazing place to spend a few hours with some beautiful elephants. It's a bit tricky to find. There is a sign on the road. You take a right and go down a dirt road till you get to a stream. Then you cross the stream and take a right and follow the dirt road till you find the entrance.
