★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Surprised to find this hotel on a recent unplanned trip to Ywangan, but there it was! Great place, several comfortable little pink and blue bungalows. The front desk staff is friendly and there’s a good breakfast served in the restaurant out back.
Bicycle people, please note! When I stayed at SGG, there were a handful of Dutch people on bikes headed north the next day. (I took that route in a minivan.) The road south of Ywangan is very scenic and nicely paved, but north of Ywangan it’s a different story. The road is dramatic but rough and twisty and dusty, and climbs steeply to a point where it follows a mountain ridge. Lots of big trucks and construction and dust and rocks. Very unpleasant and dangerous! I kept worrying about those Dutch cyclists I’d seen in Ywangan, and the horrible ride they had ahead of them. It’s a fairly long way between Ywangan and any other place that might have accommodations. If you’re planning to ride your bicycle in that direction, I hope you’ll ask around and check the road condition first!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff and owner are welcome and helpful serving with sweet smile. Price is 30000 per room. Breakfast is provided and I like coffee they served. I am wonderful the motorcycle service is FOC for going near around the hotel. They heped me buying food for dinner from restaurant everyday. I like bed with small pillows. But TV channel are not good. I have learned there is also another guest house owned by same owner and name with low price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think it's your only choise if you come to Ywangan. So they take ridiculous price of 20$ for night. Wifi not really work there, pillows very big so it was not comfortable to me to sleep there & also there are mosquitos in room. Very basic room in nothing to do town for 20$...
Now I'm in Kalaw & I have a great hotel, nothing to compare with Gu gu hotel, & it's only 13$ per night...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In Ywangan, there are just 3 - 4 guest houses and Shwe Guu Gu would be the top number one. It has hot water tabs in rooms, family rooms and a superb restaurant attached. The prices are not expensive and fair enough. It can provide car rental service too.
