★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't let the name motel fool you. Shwe Kaung Kin exceeded my expectations at all points. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was clean, though the water pressure was quite weak. If I have any reservation, it will be the fact that breakfast was served with instant 3 in 1 coffee (or instant tea). The motel itself is just about 5-10mins drive from the airport, and about another 10mins to Nyaung-O business area. There is a road full of restaurants near the motel, but bare in mind the most of the establishments in the town shuts down around 10 pm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You couldn't find nicer hosts than this family running a clean and comfortable little hotel in Bagan. They are incredibly accommodating, although basic English, we could understand each other. The breakfast was simple but nice, it's possible to rent e-bike's from here at 10K per day. All of the restaurants and cultural highlights are within 10 mins from here. Only thing that is missing is WiFi, you will have to make do with birdsong instead!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a fine little place, and the people are quite nice, even tho it says on booking “we speak your language” their English is pretty bad, not to complain, but don’t commercialise something if it isn’t right.
We arrived early in the morning with a morning bus, and they let us in, for a fee of 10.000. Which was a bit to much for my opinion.
The room is clean and great, with a comfortable bed, the toilet is fine , but the shower only drip hot water ?
It’s a bit overpriced for the quality you get, but it might change in the future ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place, run by their owners. Clean and nice rooms. 10 minutes walk from restaurants and main services, but because of that extremely quiet. They serve a good and complete breakfast, included in the room price.
Also they were extremely helpful and at the same price that in town in arranging bus tickets and e-bike rent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not to stay in Shwe Kaung Kin would be a serious mistake. When travelling in Myanmar I've been in so many wonderful places with wonderful people but this one is exceptional. I guess 'it's the people who make the country' and this people are almost like a family. They are so kind, so helpful and so lovely I don't even have words for that. But hotel itself is no worse - very clean, with fresh towels everyday, hot tea in room, comfortable bed and rich breakfast on the roof top (ask for Burmese breakfast), it's hidden between the trees in quiet rural area. In the morning all you can hear are cocks shouting! :)
It's a little far from Old Bagan so go to the reception and ask for renting a e-bike (you will definietly need it anyway) It's very cheap and when the battery gets low in the middle of nowhere - don't worry. Just call them and they will bring you a new one immediately.
So do yourself a favour and stay in this place. When I'm back one day to Bagan, I'm absolutely coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was very clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived very early in the morning and they gave us the room. The breakfast is very generous. Every day they changed the towels and brought us a bottle of water. The ebikes that rented there were very expensive and not useful. But it's easy to find other places in town. They even can help you rent a ebike in another place. Don't pay more than 6,000 Kyats per day. It's a little far from town but by bike is very close.
