SHWE MYINTZU PAGODA (INDAWGYI) Shwe Myint Zu Pagoda is one of the famous Pagoda in Myanmar. It is situated in the middle lake, indawgyi region, Moe Hnyin Township, kachin state. Indawgyi Lake also is well-known as a grate inland freshwater reservoirs, not only of Myanmar, but also for Central South East Asia. Pagoda festival is held every year in March (from eight waxing day of Thapoung to full-moon day). It is very large festival; people from all over the country come to this festival. Some People from nearby villages come on foot but many people come by boat, by car, by motorcycles to worship the pagoda and to participate the festival. Zat-pwes, cinema shows and Shan Dances show are at the festival. People enjoy these shows. More than thousands stalls are opened. They are food stalls, clothes shops, and shops which sell many other things. The Health Department and the Forest Department hold their exhibition at the festival. People from nearby villages and towns come and buy things and see zat-pwes. Young men and women are happy during festival time because they can go round and see many things and meet many people. Old people, too, come to worship the pagoda. They spend their night in bamboo huts,built for the festival. It is a large area the pagoda. It is where stalls, theaters and other buildings are built for the festival. All buildings are built with bamboo and thatch. There are built for the festival, and when the festival is over, they are pulled down and removed except the monasteries.

The pagoda itself is very nice, floating on the water after the rainy season and walk-able in the hot season when the water level decreases. I am only giving 3 stars because of the disappointment that all women face after arriving at the pagoda - ladies are prohibited from entering the pagoda's ground, we can only stay at a small platform nearby. Unfortunately, this is typical of other pagodas in Myanmar as well and is not likely to change.

The Famous Pagoda of the Kachin State. It is located at the Inn Taw Gyi lake, the biggest lake of the Myanmar. It you wanna visit to there, you have to obey local and guide instruction. According to the local belief and rule and regulation, women are not allowed to enter some specific area of that Pagoda. Moreover, you should not tell and ask about the history of that lake and Pagoda when you are riding the boat.
