What an amazingly beautiful beach in Dawei..... If you want some alone time then this beach would be perfect for you. Crystal clear water and white sand. You may have to work about 2km from the village before you arrive though, it's not *bikeable* Just so you know, there are some bungalows on the beach so you might want to book ahead if you plan to sleep over but if not, Dawei Town is less than 2hrs by motorbike. It is an awesome place to visit!

NB: We didn't stay at the bungalows, so no comment there. Extremely disappointing experience. We went to the beach at the very end of August. Admittedly this is not the best time to go due to the height of the rainy season. Regardless, this was one of the dirtiest beaches I have ever been to (Including Morocco and the Lima city beach). Loads of plastic in all shapes and sizes all along the beach. Otherwise the water was clear, but the whole experience was a complete letdown after reading all the fantastic stories of idilic beach times. Myanmar just has a zero sustainability outlook on tourism and this beach is a great reflection of that.

Fantastic place. Do go for the beachfront bungalows they are worth it. The beach is one of the best I have seen. Bungalow was in very good shape with an awesome view of the beach from your bed. Needed to use earplugs at night due to waves. Warm water shower in afternoons when the sun has heated up the pipes. Cold in mornings. The food was sometimes good, sometimes improvable - different cooks? Breakfast was fine. Everything priced about 2x what you pay in Dawei, still reasonable given that they have to bring everything by boat. The path to get there is ok if you are ok navigating 15° degree rocky slopes. But no sand so not really dangerous. Path through mangroves could be better signposted. In summary, great place to relax for a few days.

We spent our last days of our 3 week Myanmar travel at Sin Htauk and we loved it! We always wanted to visit Dawei Peninsula and this is the perfect place. We spent 5 nights in one of the Type A Bungalows - the first night we slept in a Type B which was just as nice as the Type A. The Bungalows are beautiful, spacious and clean with a huge bed and a lovely bathroom. Staff is very nice and extremly helpful. The restaurant offers really nice food (my boyfriend loved the fish, vegetarian food is also available) and fresh juices, small breakfast is included. Booking went really easy and we got a fast answer to our request. What can you do down there? Enjoying the beach, relax, taking a swim in the ocean, take a walk to the other beach nearby, watching the sunset from your veranda...have fun:) We were picked up from Dawei and eventough it was dark when we arrived it was no problem to get there, the driver showed us the way and he had a torch. It was quite fun to walk through the mangroves at night. Yes, there can be sandflies (we thought it’s not too bad) and yes you’ll find some garbage in certain spots (but not on the „main beach“ and remeber: this place is very new not many tourist come down here) but for us it still was paradise! Price-performance ratio is exvellent! We d love to come back. Thanks a lot :) Lissy & Philipp

An absolute dream! (25.01.20-01.02.20) In short, everything is fantastic! The bungalows are spacious, offering a direct, unobstructed sea view and every dish offered in the Restaurant is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The staff is very kind - the friendliest in all of Myanmar. But enough with the many words, I now let the pictures speak for themselves..?

Simple and rustic bungalows but very special beach away from civilization! It's a fun adventure walking 30 minutes through mangrove forest to arrive. Very eco friendly, using solar power, only problem is in low season they have a lot of sandflies which tormented me! But if you come prepared for them or in high season, it's totally worth coming. Stayed 5 nights and felt like a slice of paradise! Great escape from Yangon during Covid!

The beach and landscape are amazing. However, the way the bungalows are run is unacceptable. We booked a big bungalow for three days 1 month in advance and reconfirmed it, but when we got there at 17:30 we were told that all were already occupied and that we had to take a small one, a tent on the beach or just sleep on the beach, charging normal price!! and that after a very long trip and with no other possibilities around... later we found out that almost all the guests had to do the same... so it seems overbooking is the standard procedure and even for those getting there with the offered shuttle from Dawei airport... We tried to negotiate a compensation and were then called ugly people... So beware that it is high likely that you do not get what you booked when getting there. The restaurant is very good. Local food and very friendly people. The place as such amazing!

A little slice of absolute Heaven. I just spent 8 of the most relaxing, re-charging & refreshing days and nights that I could have asked for at Sin Htauk Beach Bungalows. Every aspect of my stay was top-notch! I'll list some of my favourite things: * The panoramic sea view from my bungalow meant I could sleep with the blinds up and widow open, literally staring straight out onto the ocean from my king-sized bed. Sometimes I didn't even go on to the beach, I just hung out in bed, mesmerized by the waves rolling in. * Sunsets, sunsets, sunsets! From my porch, from the water, from my bed. I loved them all! * The food at the restaurant was excellent! I personally loved the coconut thai curry with chicken; the omelette is delicious as well! * Heading over to nearby Violin Beach to enjoy the sunrises in the morning. I was often the only person on this 3.5 km long beach. * Sin Htauk beach is idyllic - white sand, turquoise water and barely anyone around. What more could you want? The owners/operators are meticulous and go to great lengths to make sure the smallest details are not overlooked. This begins during the initial hike through the mangroves, where there are so many signs to ensure you don't get lost. Guest satisfaction is taken very seriously and it shows in everything that is done here; this is an exceptional resort, it's incredibly well managed and well run and I cannot wait to return again. Thank you!!
