★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tharapar Gate is one of the famous historical site at Bagan. It is the last one of Bagan Palace's Gate. Travellers should go there. Many famous temples are near the gate such as Arnanda , Thabanyu, and Buu Pagoda.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old east gate is the best remaining part of the city wall that once surrounded Bagan city and was built around 850 A.D.
There's not left of the structure and wall around the gate but the little that's left is still in OK condition and worth a look.
The enterance is also decorated on the outside with old gods, which is in good condition.
After dark it's also lit up and looks nice.
