★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The middle station stop on the way to lashio....and to watch the beautiful unmatched goektik viaduct bridge for which every Traveller dreams to see and in this station the scenery is very beautiful the surroundings are village people dwelling the station isn't that very big but a smaller one but very peaceful and serene...you could only hear the women and girl vendors selling food items such as eggs,tea,local cigarettes,boiled ? etc very tasty and good....ahhhh there is also a foreigners rest room with a big old unused fireplace and a washroom pretty big and somewhat clean too....and thank God it doesn't stinks...lots of chairs are present so no problem of seating a little rest after you feel tired with your towing backpacks.... English is also present with the Burmese language in the signboards present in the station....the train from Mandalay to lashio and back waits for an hour so you can get lots of refreshments and a little bit of exercise while walking in the station....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing too special about the train station its self, but it is a beautiful town. Food and drinks available at the nearby market. The train ride from Mandalay to Lashio is beautify and memorable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great train journey, a MUST for any railway enthusiast. Amazing journey to the Burma/Chinese border. Make sure you dedicate an entire day for each way of the journey plus overnight stay. The Gokteik Viaduct was the highlight.
