deers,monkeys,leopards,burmese roofed turtles,zebras,snakes,crocodiles,peacocks etc,can be seen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice zoo with entrance opposite the Royal Palace Mandalay. Entrance is 1000 mmk Burmese and 2000 foreigners. There is a toy train, golf carts, for those who don't want to walk. Lots of variety of animals but not many are exotic. Lion, leopard, tiger, elephants, even camels, bears, one can see all at close range. Nice place for picnic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I happened to visit during the dry, cool months of Feb and the greenery is not lush. However Bougainvillea plants thrive in some spots in such hard environment.
The zoo is not well maintained and the ponds are stagnant and dark where you can't see the famous tortoises. The monkeys were noisy adding atmosphere to an otherwise dormant, sleepy zoo.
