Yangon International Airport

Decent airport . Umpteen stores if you have forgotten to shop. The place is well navigated as well. The food court features outlets like KFC , Burger King, see Sen and more. Overall a decent experience.

Big new building looks good but bit of a trek to get from the front door to the aeroplane. Duty free was better than expected with most items priced in dollars. Back after 2 years to visit again, better cafe's and service this time.

Surprisingly modern, comfortable and efficient airport serving Yangon. Currency exchange has reasonable rates, immigration is fast both upon arrival and at departure, and queues are very quick. There are 4 different ATMs at baggage claim, though word to the wise my Canadian card didn't work on any of them for some reason, so I had to exchange some emergency cash at the currency exchange instead. Many cabs to go into the city but for the best rates and safest experience, if you have cell data, use Grab, which is usually around 7,000 kyats into the city at the time of writing.

The terminal 2 of the airport, which is mostly clean at the arrival halls, but lack of service and shops. Grab Taxi is now can be used also. The international departure halls or terminal 1 is the new modern one. It is very clean and much larger with variety of shops and service are provided at the lounge, way better than the old one. You can get drinks or foods from modern shops or buying souvenir or stuff from famous stores around the waiting lounge. Some parts are under construction. The immigration department will check you very very carefully, so be ready for that.

Spacious & clean airport. Staff and custom are efficient to get things going. Arrived couple days ago from international terminal. Having few other upcoming domestic flights. Nothing negative like having attitude with the custom, unlike in many other countries. That's a bonus point. Facilities and surrounding area decently maintained. If exchange currency at airport, get some when see one. Once inside after the custom, no more chance available. USD is still the preferred currency for exchange convenience. Lots of washroom along the way, with staff on duty keeping it clean frequently. Toilet paper available. No funny smell, no more filthy washroom stories like heard of three to even ten years ago. Been told beware of taxi driver too aggressively ‘help’ taking your luggage & tell you go to their cab. That was few years ago and have been improved from the airport environment. Do have an agreement of the price beforehand. Yet overall they're fine and just want to have business. Few shops & cafe there to spend some time while waiting to board. Overall very good experience.

Comparing the old airport and this new one, I would give 5 stars for this. A world class airport with all the necessary facilities. Very convinient from check in to clearing immigration to boarding. The immigration is well developed with latest technology. Staff is professional. A reasonable collection of duty free shops. Also have a few restaurants including burger king.

Best International Airport in Myanmar with good food stations and Louges

Actually, the airport is good. Newly built and very modern. Service is good and the place is clean. Outside is still behind but catching up with modern world. Keep up the good work.
