★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely monastery surrounded by rice fields. This place is very open to foreign visitors and the one monk speaks some English. He's 79 years old and taught himself English by using the dictionary. He also knows some German and Korean among other languages that he's learned from guests. If you're into geocaching there is one here. For a one of a kind experience you should visit and spend some time chatting. Be aware the monastery itself is nothing spectacular but the people are what make it great. He has a photo album of the monastery over the years and pictures from guests who have sent him mail. I recommend bringing money or a food item to donate (no one will ask you to donate but it's kind since it's obvious how little they have).
