 According to Burmese historical records, in 1904, when the whole of Burma was under British rule, the British government granted 19,140 acres of paddy land in the Zaywad area of Zaywadi, India. In 1935, these individuals bought a sugar mill from Britain and began construction on Zeywaddy. The mill capacity of the mill increased to 1,000 tons per year, and later increased to 2,500 tons per year. Produced from 1952-53, it was nationalized in 1954 after the independence of Myanmar.
