★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As the region is developing, Dawei airport is without a reliable electricity supply and air conditioning.There are no cafes or restaurants there except for a small shop which unfortunately does not sell phone cards. The airport is secure with police outside. The staff and immigration authorities are friendly and welcoming.
There is no luggage carousel, rather, you must wait for the bags to be deposited outside the airport - not the safest option but necessary given the circumstances.
Outside the airport there are taxis and a fair price to the centre of Dawei is MMK5,000.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small domestic airport. Relatively well organised. Security check is simple. Aftwr security check, seating and small shop inside. The shop sells food and some small souvenirs. The flight was delayed by 30mins. Toilet available inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a small resort town airport in Southern Myanmar. Very basic facilities. Immigration officials can be rather strict on foreigners. Do make prior hotel bookings b4 landing in Dawei; otherwise you may face some problems....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small local airport. Remember to keep the luggage tag receipt with you. As after landing, staff do verify with the tag to confirm its yours. As long as got the visa ready in advance. Custom is simple and already as efficient as they can, without dragging. Have your airport shuttle van / taxi arranged in advanced would make everything flow well. Very closed by to main city, less than 4km car ride.
