Grasshopper Adventures - Inle Lake Bike Tours - Phaung Daw Pyan Rd

My daughter and I did the cycle and kayak day tour with Sam a couple of weeks ago. It was one of my top travel experiences ever. The opportunity to explore rural areas and be privileged enough to visit peoples homes and their home based industries (molasses and rice cake production) was such a treat. The authenticity, as opposed to feeling like things were done specifically to attract tourists (nothing wrong with that either), made this a genuinely heart warming experience. Sam took regular breaks to explain local history, traditions and agricultural practices. I grew up reading National Geographic so seeing Lake Inle, the floating gardens and village, the fishermen was surreal. This is definitely the best way to experience the area. Well done Grasshopper on providing a top class experience. I look forward to exploring many more places with you in the future.

We loved our full-day bike tour with Sam, another superior day with Grasshopper! Like our excursion in Bagan, it was a great mix of culture, food, sites and conversation. We loved biking through farmland and getting a glimpse of rural Myanmar around Inle Lake. The kayaking through the stilted homes was a treat as well, not something we would have experienced with anyone else. This tour was more $$ than we normally spend on an excursion, but we loved Bagan so much we felt it would be worth the price tag, and we were right. Thank you Grasshopper team! Keep doing what you’re doing!

I did the 1 Day "Bike, Boat & Kayak" in Inle Lake and absolutely loved it! You bike around the very peaceful countryside and get to visit local families who are the kindest people and see their daily hardworking lives. My guide, Sam was brilliant! He was super friendly, informative and a great person overall. I was lucky to have been the only person on the tour that day so got to chat with Sam and learn about his life. Everything was perfect on the tour. Would highly recommend it and would do it again! It's worth the $$$! Thanks for a fantastic day Sam!

Great experience. We did the bike, boat and kayak tour and had a wonderful day. The tour takes you away from the main attractions and lets you really see the beautiful landscape and get in touch with the people. We would definitelly do it again.

We did one day “Bike, Boat & Kayak” tour around Inle lake with my family in February 2019. The Grasshopper Adventures team organized everything very well. We have 3 children aged 12, 10 and 3. We were provided appropriate bikes for older children and a baby seat for the youngest one. The team also provided helmets and gloves to everyone. The guide was very helpful and responsive. The route was just perfect for our family. It was great learning experience on local nature and local villager's life. Highly recommend!

Another fantastic ride with Grasshopper Adventures, this time with our guide Wai from the Inle shop. My girlfriend and I opted to do the Mountains and Lake Bike Adventure, a full day of experiences you just wouldn't get if you tried to explore this area on your own. This was our 7th bike ride in our 4th country with Grasshopper, so high expectations were inevitable. Happily these expectations were again meet from the very start to finish. A hotel collection by van was how our day started, for the drive of a little over an hour before stopping for a tasty local breakfast roadside. Now at an elevated starting point, the adventure could get underway. Starting from next to a school gave the added bonus of being cheered off by some enthusiastic school children, who seemed familiar with the sight of strange European looking cyclists leaving their town!! Wai was very knowledgeable and he gave a comprehensive & detailed account of the area and its history throughout the day, various stops along the way gave opportunity to interact with locals in ways you wouldn't normally have the opportunity to do. I started this review by saying my partner and I have done may rides with Grasshopper... but I wanted to say again we´ve never done 2 at the same shops location. We both feel that anyone who can ride a bike and wants to get more from a visit to these incredible locations, will finish the day buzzing and feeling you've made the most out of your time. We certainly recommend Grasshopper Adventures for their bike tours, they have guided rides for all standards of fitness and it’s the perfect way to actually understand what your seeing and with so many stops for food /drinks (included) throughout the day also what your eating :) Highly recommended, thank you again Grasshopper.

This was an excellent leisurely tour (for those who are fit) of the local area and culture. We were able to see all the different types of farming going on, a local market, local candy making, and a lot more. We really enjoyed the Shan noodle lunch and our guide Joe was very pleasant. I was even able to get some photography in on the way back of the traditional fishermen.

My friend and I did the 1 day boat, bike and kayak tour up at Inle Lake last weekend and we both absolutely loved it! Our guide Sam made sure to stop and give us knowledge about the different areas and let us set the pace. We rode down a beautiful path through flowers gardens with butterflies flying around and villages with kids asking for high-fives, through a bamboo forest and made various stops including a village bakery and cook shop to try the local snacks, a lotus pond and of course for a delicious lunch. The boat ride on the lakes was beautiful and relaxing and we finished off the day with kayaking. I highly recommend this company to everyone!
