★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hinthagon Pagoda (Burmese: ဟင်္သာကုန်းဘုရား) is a shrine in Bago, Myanmar. It is a popular tourist destination as it was named after the mythological Hintha bird, a symbol of the Mon people.
The monastery is situated on top of a hill that, according to Myanmar legend, was the only point rising from the sea where the Hintha bird could land. Paintings and carvings of the Hamsa are visible throughout the temple.
The Shwemawdaw Pagoda (tallest pagoda in Myanmar) can be viewed to the east, making it a popular view point.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is not very well cared, but it has wonderful views at sunset. Is beautiful and is very close to the Shawmawdaw pagoda, the 15 minutes walk is worthy

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peaceful temple that is frequented by locals. It's nice, but not really anything special. It does however give a good view of local life. Something I can enjoy. The view of Shwemawdaw is not as spectacular as people would have you believe, but it is nice.
