★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the old passage way to shwezigon pagoda. It is some thing like port. People who came via ayeyarwady river get down here and went to the temple. But now this place is not maintained well. Water level of river is low now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little bit disappointed about the gate. Its not a gate but merely a statue. First time we just walked by and accidentally discovered the 'gate'. Just follow the concrete path towards the riverside and you will pass the lion. The thing itself is quite remarkable though, but not worth a special trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden among the trees overlooking the river is the huge lion statue, above stairs down to the river. There is only one lion now but some photos show two. I wonder where the other huge statue is now. It's not well known as even my tour guide didn't know about it. And no info on a web search..?
