Gorgeous and spacious bungalows at a reasonable price.
Exceptionally clean and well maintained rooms and amenities.
We enjoyed the food with a good balance of western and Asian selections to choose from and friendly service. The spa was phenomenal... the best I have found after traveling in Asia over 10 years. We were very impressed with the great management and top notch professional service .... I definitely plan to come back again!

The property and rooms are very modern, large, and clean, just as the photos show. The lobby, the walkways, the restaurants are all quite stunning.
However, though you are in East Asia and paying a modest $100+ per night for a jr. Suite, they are charging about 10 x the price of a reputable local restaurant on food costs. We were beyond shocked to see starters like spring rolls which sell between $1.00 and $2.50 locally, go for $10 on the room service menu. They add about a 100% markup on tours from our experience as well for the same people you can hire from a local agency literally across the street.
Additionally they closed off the nicer restaurant overlooking the lake for a private event which I found very unfair to hotel guests.
Overall, location is great, the price per room per night seems fair, but the menu is priced as though you are in Switzerland when you are in a 3rd world country. If you stay here, plan on booking your tours ahead and scope out local restaurants.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my Christmas getaway. And it was so pleasant. The staff is so friendly. When we came to the room after swimming in the pool we had a Christmas gift on our bed. And when we came down to breakfast they had more presents for us. The rooms are clean and very well maintained. The beds are comfortable. The views are gorgeous. The bathrooms are perfect. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of food to choose from. I would highly recommend a stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed two nights. I like how they designed and decorated a room which would make us feel super special. A large balcony where we could chill and relax. Bathtub time with beautiful scenery. Amazing infinity pool with bar. Staff are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I can give 0 star, I’ll give zero. The place is good but the attitude of the manager is so bad and don’t want to fix the problem. I don’t think this is not a good hotel when you got world luxury awards. You don’t deserve it, Novotel hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed for New Year's eve (took a while to write the review) - what a great surprise this hotel turned out to be!
We were upgraded to an overwater Bungalow, which at 112sqm is one of the largest hotel rooms I've found. The decor is impeccable, the design of the bathroom is gorgeous and the ultra high ceilings with the veil over the bed are an amazing touch.
What was special was how nice everyone was,and how much fun we had for NYE. We hope things improve in Myanmar and people can once again flock to this special country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing hotel. The view behind the hotel is the mountains and the view in front is the lake. Lake house has fantastic view. Very high ceiling makes the room more specious. Sunset bar is close at the moment. The swimming pool was so deep.
Have the gym and spa but couldn't try this time. Staffs are helpful and attentative.
Will visit again for sure.
