This university was opened in 2012. It was started under the civilian government (President Thein Sein). At that time there was no university of Arts and Sciences in Sagaing. The President intended the students to be able to attend school in their own city. At the time of its launch, specialized courses were not perfect, but they are now in perfect condition.
Many of the buildings have been small since the opening, but there are many except for the Convocation Hall, which offers bachelor's degrees.
At the time of the university's opening, there were no shady trees, places to stay and food canteens, but now canteen is open. However, I would like to have more shady trees beside the main road that goes into the campus.Students should not only rely on the teaching of their education, but also the space in which the students can relax.

Among them, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geography, History and Myanmar are producing MA degree holders. Distance education is also available. Over 5300 students are learning at Distance Education. Now it has already held 3rd conviction in January 2020.
