★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The basic rooms are in a new building and not in the bungolows as shown on the pictures. Had a horrible smell because of the new paint on the wall. Staff friendly, good english, but if found them little helpful. Charged my twice for a bicycle rental. Never pay them in advance

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location, 5 walk to Shittaung paya. Friendly staff. especially the front desk manager, helpful and informative, Two type of rooms: bungalow and standard room. Standard rooms are in dormintory.US$25.- ,higher prices booking in thoses hotel agent websites. Standard room is clean, not big, with TV, a/c and refrigerator, good shower hot water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Major tip: book a superior or deluxe room. The standard ones are actually in a separate dorm-like building at the back of the property. We thought we were staying in one of the regular rooms pictured on the website and got put in the grim back building - cockroaches in the shower, half of the lights not working, door wouldn't close properly, etc. Paid to switch after the first night, but felt like a bait and switch - left a bad taste. Better experience when we moved for the next several nights.

rooms starting from ~25$ and upwards.
AC, hot/cold shower, TV, mini fridge, big room and hair dryer if need. Breakfast included with complementary welcome drink.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We made a reservation at the Shwe Thazin hotel and upon arrival we were given a room that didn’t look at all like what we had seen on the hotel’s web site. It was completely bare, worn and dirty. When we complained to the front desk, it took more than 30 minutes for the manager to come talk to us, despite the fact that he had been sitting at a desk and listening to our complaints. We asked for a room that looked like the one on the web site. Then we were shown to yet another room; slightly better than the first, but also nothing like the pictures in the web site. It too was all dusty and worn. We asked for another room and were told that none were available, so we asked for a refund and were denied one.
If we had been told the truth; that the room we were booking didn’t look like the one on the web site, we would have taken our business elsewhere, which is what I recommend to others . Book at your own risk!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent mid range hotel but make sure you go for their superior rooms, which are in the Arrakan style huts, rather than standard, which is in the rather grim dormitory to the back. Breakfast is fine, but there are better places to eat locally. You can rent bikes up the road and downtown is easily accessible walking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an old room. The manager apologized for this. He wanted us to stay in one of the newer rooms. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so this wasn't possible. In the morning a ceremony started nearby at 5:30 with a lot of music. The rooms are not soundproof. Luckily we were planning to see the sunrise. If you are not make sure there is no party the next morning if you want to "sleep in". For the old room it is overpriced. Because I hit my head a couple of times on the doorpost we had a complimentary meal. Staff was nice as always and the breakfast decent. I had the best omelette in Myanmar.
