Great sunset watching position! Unfortunately very packed

It can't be said this place was the exact or the best place to watch Sunrise or Sunset Landscape views of Bagan but after prohibition order not to climb up old aged Bagan Stupas and Temples had been applied, there has been left no much places to watch Sunset View. Among a little or few numbers of Sunset view points in Bagan, You can't exclude this place from the out of bucket list to visit. Whatsoever, please don't forget this place was just manmade and it was built no much longer ago. It was meant for just only sightseeing.

Go online and download the ideal sunset pictures that were taken by a professional photographer with high-end equipment and then use those photos for your social media and future memory recall. Then you can come here and fully enjoy a beautiful sunset.

With basically all of the temples closed for sunset, this is probably one of the best spots you can watch it (without breaking rules or relying on a potentially unscrupulous local to take you someplace that might be off limits). The views are decent, though without a good camera and lens I'm not sure you'll be capable of getting those sunset pictures that inspired you to come to Bagan in the first place. Vendors are incessant and pushy (even during low season), and the number of people watching it with you while talking, taking selfies, etc. will make it feel anything but serene. Still, if you want to catch a sunset you can certainly do worse than this place.

Great view, but very crowded!

I respect and understand the attempt to create viewing platforms especially because the temples are (almost) entirely forbidden to climb. However, we thought the view was poor. Too far from any temples to get truly great views. Most are west of you making sunrise not a great option (when we went) so maybe go at sunset. The balloons do fly close overhead which is a plus and it’s not difficult to find but in retrospect being on the ground closer to temples could’ve given us better views.

Instead of climbing any pagoda to sun rise or set.Now government banned climbing any pagoda in Bagan.So please respect the rule. You can climb a manmade dune near Sulamani pagoda and you can still get the good picture of sun set as well.

Grotesque manmade hill where tourists are currently herded to watch the sunset. It doesn't even look safe, the rails are already tumbling down. It sits right above a road, not the least picturesque nor atmospheric. Worse of all, vendors of cheap stuff swarm around and won't take a gentle no, really annoying. Sunset is pretty, if one is lucky with the weather, but nothing epic -- rather disappointing, in our experience. And unless one has good lens and camera, the panomara is bland, very uninspiring. Seems like it is already too late to visit Bagan for sunset.
