★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the fort build to defence Mandalay, the royal city of Konbaung dynasty. Now was an empty place. And only two rusty cannon displayed. Near the old Averb(Innwa) bridge that aged over 100 years ago. Lack of maintenance. But you can see Ayawaddy river and sagaing hill scenery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice old fort still in good condition but could use some maintenance.
It's quite a good sized fort which must've made for a good defense against enemy ships coming up the river.
Looks like there also might have been a outer defenseline towards the river were they could have had more cannons, than just the ones on the main wall, so there could have been quite heavy firepower to unleash.
Enjoyed exploring this fort and walking through all the tunnels and rooms.
Also was little surprised to find a boat in the old tunnelenterance from the outer yard.
Not quite sure about the history of that.
Not sure about the age but from other reveiws here it seems to be from around 1875.
Also know as Thapyatan Fortress as it seems.
