★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2.5km from the center but tuk tuk and taxi easy to get and cheap. If you don’t want to deal with cash I’d recommend downloading application called Grab. Fourth and fifth floors have good river view but if lower levels you’re not gonna see much view. Quite, clean and bit old style. Breakfast was good. Great sun set on the rooftop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We absolutely loved our stay at the Ayarwaddy River Hotel. Breakfast is served indoors on the top (5th) floor and dinner is served outside on the roof terrace which has a great view of the sunset over the river. Our room was comfortable and clean-nothing fancy but perfectly adequate for our needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is a fair way from town so it's not an easy walk. We had a superior room on the fourth floor and the room was fine in terms of its size and furnishings with a view overlooking the river. The rooms were clean. The staff are lovely especially the housekeepers who greet you so genuinely every time they see you. Staff; Very friendly and helpful at all times and in all situations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spectacular views from the roof, this is the ideal place to watch sunset in Mandalay. However, the restaurant manager made us feel very unwelcome. We arrived to a roof top of totally empty tables and were told that every single one was reserved so we had to sit in the corner without a view. However after 1.5hours none of the tables had been filled. Considering we only went for one drink it would have been nice for them to accommodate us and let us use one of the many free tables until a time when the guests that had reserved it arrived.
Cocktails are average for the price but worth it for the view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service is great. Venus went over and above her call of duty to assist our family of 15, overall staff are most helpful. Hotel a little dated but clean. Food at breakfast is tasty and adequate. Location may be an issue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comfortable large size room with all amenities we needed. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool. Front desk staff were extremely helpful with booking tours, bus tickets and looking after luggage when we went away for a night. Would highly recommend

Friendly and organized reception
Comfy bed and pillows.
I would recommend this place if you are going to transfer onto the ferry the next morning
Very decent hotel restaurant as well.
Happy hour from 5-6 on the roof top bar. And a marionette show ( if not raining) as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You'd really stunned by it's amazing interior decoration and service.Room fees are relatively decent for its view,inner decoration, services and wide rooms.Rooftop scenes are so special for both east with Mandalay hill and city and west with the Ayawaddy river view.The family rooms are really spacious for the whole family with three or four kids and it has wide lounge with two aircon two TV and two Fridge.The all satisfactory factors can neglect only one tarnished point that has bad dirty and noisy location of local fish bazaar.
