★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The very minimum if you need a bed for one night. Bring your own supplies, toilet paper, towel etc. I slept ok because it was quiet. They found me a cheap motorcycle tour of the town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As another person commented, 'Golden Nightmare' is a more accurate name for this vile hotel. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a dusty lobby which I took as warning sign number one. If they can't even clean their lobby, i was scared to see the room. Since we just came from a 9 hour bus ride from Yangon and didn't have anywhere else to go, we got a room for a night. The room was an absolute nightmare. I've been backpacking for 4 months and havent seen anything so disgusting in my life. The bed sheet was full of gross stains, the walls were just plain disgusting, the bathroom should be condemned as it looks like they havent cleaned it in a few years and to top it off, the toilet didn't flush. I slept on a shawl over the bed because I wouldn't dare put my skin on any surface of this establishment. It was also caked in dust from the middle ages. I almost gave them 2 stars just because they gave us a room at 6am, but I couldn't justify giving this place anything more than one. If the staff cleaned instead of talking and blasting music at 9am, maybe this place could turn things around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is cheap, in a good location close to town and has free wifi and that's where the dream ends. The rooms are filthy, stains on the walls, bedsheets, I didn't dare look at the mattress underneath. Paper thin walls, traffic noise, people talking at reception, the clock ringing every hour. Their alarm system beeps every fifteen seconds which will drive you mad at night. The windows don't open and there's no curtains so you can't let fresh air in or block light out. Didn't even bother looking at breakfast. No air-conditioning, the ONLY reason this doesn't get 1 star is because the shower (which is also dirty and set at waist height) is hot and has good pressure. Should be called the 'Golden Nightmare'.
