★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel in itself even being newly opened really does not stand out from similarly priced competition. Mostly importantly it is clean. The location is outside of the Chinatown district where I had previously stayed and found to be too dingy and noisy. Generous breakfast served on the top floor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found the hotel staff helpful, honest and friendly. The rooms are clean albeit tiny. The Grand Laurel is within easy walking distance of the Scott Market and Sule Pagoda but requires a taxi for Shwedagon Pagoda. In the city centre, or a couple of block from there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The facilities in the hotel are in excellent condition. The single room was at the back of the hotel and had no windows. It is in a great location and not so congested. The breakfast was okay with local dishes mixed with some western options. In the bottom line - a great value for money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff were friendly but Hotel is a disappointment. Location is away from most decent shopping, attractions, activities which doesn't justify even its promotional rates. The room has a window that opens to the Wall of the next building, about a meter away, and not the City Vuew as expected. Power failures occur in the night. Room was rather cramp with only a single side table which was quite inconvenient. There were ample electrical sockets available though, but somewhat near the floor away from the single table. I would not consider it value for my money aa a result of my travel exposure, but from past reviews, it appears well received by others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is located just within walking distance of the main market/city centre on a busy street. The breakfast spread offers their famous local shan noodles as well as toast n cereals. Very good price for the money. I will definitely return to this hotel the next time I fly to Yangon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contents of the room are really good. I liked that there is a personal kettle, western stlye tea, an ironing board and iron in the room. Also the utensils and were covered in individual packages. In the bathroom shavers, tooth picks and floss along with the usualy hotel packages we given
Complementary fruits upon arrival was one of my favourites with the cleanliness of the room.
Even though the hotel's entrance on the ground floor is small the points stated above made this stay a touch above the rest. I would return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The railway station is near. Has all the amenities you need. Hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk to the Sule Pagoda. The entire property was spotless regardless of the time of day. Reception speaks decent English considering the majority of locals speak little to none. Money worth spent. Good for families and business people.
