★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mount Popa (Popa Taung Ma Gyi), not far away from ancient city Bagan, also known as Oasis of Cental Myanmar is the best destination for one day trekking. Popa Taung Kalat and Mount Popa (Popa Taung Ma Gyi) is completely different in nature. Popa Taung Kalat is the best place to learn Nat religion culture and it is always crowded with people whereas Mount Popa (Popa Taung Ma Gyi) could be defined as peaceful and quiet natural park and completely covered with green forest. Even though they are situated in the same region, the type is completely different. If so, you can choose what you want and it's depend on your will.

Amazing views and the locals are very respectful and understanding to those who visit with respect of their culture. ***BEWARE OF THE MONKEYS*** If you have the right attitude and demeanor they will leave you alone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mount Popa is a vulcanic mountain in the central Myanmar. 1519 meter above sea level. A little confusing, because the monastery Taung Kalat at the mountain foot also often are called Mt Popa.
The mountain itself - from where I have taken the pictures - is nothing special. You need at least 5 - 6 hours to walk to the top and back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Height above sea level is 4981 ft. The best time to go is rainy season (can see cloudy sea from top of mountain )and winter season. Not recommended for summer season .not bad in summer , can see wild flowers.
