★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popa Garden Resort has an exceptional view of Taung Ka Lat and that is one its highlights. It is situated at the base of Mount Popa (the mountain, not the monastery/temple) and can be used as a base for exploring Bagan. The gardens are very well-maintained and immaculate.
We did not stay at he resort, but had lunch there. The food was okay, but certainly not cheap. Be prepared to pay European rates for your meals. The bill for our lunch for 4 people came to around $57.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great time at the Popa Garden Resort. First off, the manager and staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Whether it’s organizing a trip and shuttle or late breakfast, consider it being taken care of. The resort is in impecible condition, located near magical Mount Popa, perfect for hiking trips and visiting local temples. It’s an idyllic hideaway with its pool area being the place to spend mid-day sun hours pass by. Breakfast buffet as well as lunch and à-la-carte dinner offers a rich assortment of Continental dishes and genuine Asian specialties. And the cuisine is excellent. Last but not least, the ensuite-style rooms are very nicely crafted with wood, generous bathrooms and the most comfortable beds. Located within driving distance from Bagan, Popa Garden Resort is the perfect retreat for couples, and it’s the ideal holiday lodge for families and groups of friends. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is wide with beautiful scenery. The rooms are very spacious with good natural lighting and ventilation. The view is amazing, too. You can practically see the sun rising on the Popa Mountain and Popa Taung Ka Latt from your bed. The swimming pool style is different from other pools and suitable for kids and adults. The food is what every great hotel would serve. If you are ever in Popa, you should go and see those things at first hand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Resort opened fairly recently, I think and is perhaps undergoing a few teething problems. However, that didn't affect our stay of one night at all! When we checked in, the Manager, George accompanied us to our Rooms and quickly resolved a few minor issues that we had, like softer pillows and removal of mosquito curtains.
We had two windows looking towards Mount Popa, which I wanted to photograph at different times during our stay. The glass pane on one of the windows wouldn't open and I didn't like that. George summoned a mechanic from maintenance and got the latch changed! Thank you very much indeed, George! The view of Mt. Popa was simply superb!
The staff members here are very polite and courteous but the problem was that they didn't know English at all. Not to worry, George was at hand, all the time, and he's fluent in English with a slight American accent!
The gardens are very well appointed, with a swimming pool in the middle. Made me regret not packing my trunks!
Food is fairly good, though limited in variety. On the whole, an excellent experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I stayed in this peaceful and naturally beautiful resort for two nights. Upon our arrival, the genuine warm and attentive welcome by the reception counter was great. We were taken by cart accompanied with the reception supervisor Zwe Pwint Phyu to our unit and what an amazing and spacious accommodation it was. The view from the spacious room and sitting terrace was the entire resort with very natural setting, overlooking the swimming pool and far up in the background was Popa Mountain.
The food in the restaurant had limited choice due to small number of guests but it was nice, served by very kind and attentive staff. The resident manager of the hotel Mr. Thu Ya Aung came to the restaurant, introduced himself, and did everything possible to attend and satisfy our requests.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this Resort to anyone who is looking for peaceful and attentive accommodation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is truly a gem basally ingrained at the foot of Popa Mountain. We were greeted with a hearty, hospitable reception and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room had a very pleasant view of Mt.Popa and room was very cozy,comfy,and spacious. We could see the picturesque scenery very clearly from the balcony. Being surrounded by the lush greenery made our day. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. Food was superb,high quality,and nothing short of authentic!Especially the local cuisine and curries!Overall outstanding experience,would definitely come again.
