★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Room was spacious and clean. Staying in the club horizon rooms with the club access made the stay much more enjoyable. Staff and professional and genuinely care about the customer. Nothing is to much trouble. Special mention to Goal Lay for exceptional service and helping one of our family members when they were unwell. Definitely the place to stay when visiting Myanmar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was great from when we arrived to going to breakfast every morning. The housekeeping staff were so friendly and polite, especially Mr Goal Lay who took care of our floor and wanted to help out any way he could. As part of our package upgrade, we were given access to the Horizon Lounge which have the best all around views and Happy Hour was brilliant as they provided drinks and a small buffet area. The staff down at the lobby greeted us every time we walked past which was nice. The restaurant inside the hotel was outstanding. The buffet selection for breakfast had foods from all around the world so it catered to everyone and it was all fresh. Really great experience at the Sule Shangri-La and I would come back to stay if I was visiting Yangon again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Shangrilla Hotel in Yangon. The staff at the reception were very helpful and courteous. The health club and the spa was excellent. But above all the buffet breakfast was just superb.
The best thing was the surprise birthday cake we found in our room to celebrate my wife's birthday, the reception staff having found out her birth date from the passport and given us this surprise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have had a very pleasant experience in general. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized rooms, clean and quiet. Excellent location. Pleasant lounge area.
However, we have major complaints about the bathroom: very difficult to get in and out of the high-rim bath tub (walk-in shower stall preferred), toilet is inefficient, water drains from sink with undesirable noise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our 3rd visit. I like the location (provides relatively easy access for our local friends). Horizon Club room was quiet ( I had indicated we were staying 8 nights) and Horizon Club staff excellent. Concierges also extremely helpful. I nitpicked service mistakes last time: better this time. Housekeeping good by any standards. Complaints? One or two carpets looking a bit 'well used' now but we still like the overall look. General problem faced by all hotels these days : parents seemingly bringing younger and younger children on trips these days. But I'm not sure what you or I as a guest should do about that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall, we enjoyed the service of the staff the most. Our room had lovely views of the city and the Horizon Club did not disappoint. Excellent service quality. Our only concern is that the hotel could use a freshen-up. We stopped in for drinks or dinner at The Strand and Rosewood and their feeling is of luxury is classic, yet contemporary.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was impressed when I received an email before my arrival to assure me that the extra bed is taken cared and ready when I arrived but was a little disappointed when i walk into the room and it was not ready. Informed the front desk a few times before the bed is put in place and additional set of cups, toiletries were set up. However, that said, overall it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and make us feel very welcome. They were also helpful with booking the cabs to our restaurant booking one of the night. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. The service was fantastic. They did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable and did not need anything. The breakfast in the morning was incredibly varied having stations for Japanese, Indian, Western, and more. The rooms themselves were really well taken care of and very comfortable. I will be staying again if I am ever in Yangon.
