Thandwe Airport

Let's start with the pros, because the cons are a bit longer. Pros, they pretty much let you take food without in the airplane or as luggage. The airport is really small, but they try to keep the space open since it can get really hot inside. Now with cons. Since it is so HUMID you are going to be hot inside. You can't go wait outside once you have been admitted in. So don't wait for your flight on the first floor unless you can handle it. I would go to the second floor where they keep the windows and doors open so that you can feel the breeze hit your face. You can also take pictures because you get great views of the clear blue ocean. Also it gets really hot inside because they have to A/C and no fans, so that's why I would recommend going to the second floor. There is nothing to entertain you while you are waiting, no TVs, no radio, not many shops. If you have service you are lucky. So bring something to entertain yourself. Also, flights are not on time. They arrive when they arrive, it might be late from 30 minutes or even to an hour. Which is torture because the airport is so hot. Luckily once inside the plane it is at a comfortable temperature. Hopefully you don't have to spend a lot of time here and just have fun in Ngapali and any other location.

Small airport, nice view. U can see the blue sea throught. Well organized and clean. If u guys come for backpacker u wouldnt get lost. You can easy to book nice hotel direclty cos some delegation of hotel put their stand in the airport. You can also come by yourself too see around before book. Many small bus or something like tuk tuk in thailand waiting you outside. The price is about 300 - 500 kyat depends your negotiation and how far you go.

There's no motorbike taxis here, the Tuktuks try to charge a lot. Also it's a bit weird to arrive to because they have an immigration procedure for domestic flights; you have to wait in line while they hand-write the details of everyone. If you haven't pre-booked a hotel, you have to tell them the name of one anyways because they want to write it down.

An efficient airport. For arrival, tourist had to register with the immigration here. If you had not arrange pickup, it's a bit pricey and time consuming to negotiate with the taxi driver. For departure, there was no computer at the airline check-in counter. They gave us broading passes once they saw our names were on the list. There was air con in the boarding area after security check. Go upstairs to the roof top and there was a good view of the airport.

After check in, can still get fresh air from sea, coffee, soft drinks, souvenirs shop. Also toilet is clean.

Smaller, less commercialised airport with manual baggage handling and passengers walk off the plane, across the apron, directly into the terminal building. Several hotel reception desks in the arrival hall. Adequate taxis or tuk-tuks outside for transfer to many hotels etc down the coast.

Nice, small and not too busy airport. The café in the check-in area is a good place to chill while waiting for the flight. There's no café or restaurant at the boarding area, so I recommend going through security at the last minute.

Location and views from uppder balcony is amazing. But maintenance and management is poor. Bad smells in toilet and there's no tissue paper and hand dryer is not working. We experienced a lady asking for some cash as they picked up and dropped our luggage from car to check-in counter.(We didn't ask them for help). The authority saw ths situation but didn't take any action. Upstairs, empty office and abandoned VIP lounge.
