Golden Rose Hotel

Here's my two cents about Golden Rose Guest House:- 1. I noted that I will be arriving early and I really appreciate the early check-in and the room is ready! 2. The room is spacious. 3. Love the rooftop breakfast and of course the breakfast. Go for the rice choice instead of western food to get the local taste. 4. You can get your travel itinerary advice from the owner and their son, very friendly people. Besides, you can book your bus ticket with them. 5. Appreciate the free flow of coffee/ water whole day, love it! 6. WiFi, not bad, but the signal is weak in certain area and depend on the timing (it is a norm across Myanmar). They are doing their best and I can see that they hang the router at strategic places. Area of improvement:- 1. They can better utilize the rooftop space by providing food services (not just preparing the breakfast), especially in late evening or during raining days where we might be too lazy to go out. 2. If they have their own eBike, that would be great. 3. TV channels are not good in selection, may consider to add few channels. Nonetheless, it is a guest house and having a TV is already a plus point.

Conveniently situated hotel within walking distance of a lot of the sites in Old Bagan. Lovely staff team, great roof garden and excellent breakfasts. Free water, tea and coffee. A very relaxed place to stay.

The rooms are basic with only a few tv channels and some dim lighting. They aren't well soundproofed so when others are busy outside you can hear everything. Breakfast was on the lighter side but everything is fresh. The staff are friendly and can assist with renting a bike or tuk-tuk for the day, or getting long distance travel arrangements.

Very convenient to access to temples and quiet spot. Nice hot shower at the end of the day is just fantastic. Ample supply of water bottles, tea and coffee is a huge bonus. Very helpful family-run guest house. Staff is very helpful at booking bus tickets and renting e-bike etc. Great value for money place.

Stayed a few years ago. Decent place to lay your head down for the value.

Great staff and nice location. AMAZING breakfast in the rooftop and the staff is just golden like the name. The manager Joe is a great conversation guy and the ladies are just so nice and helpful it's to die for. Even made me mohynga (sorry for misspelling) just because I asked if they know where I can try it. Rooms were great clean and comfy!

Best place to stay! Me and my girlfriend both loved this place. They checked us in at 6 AM which is better than anywhere we've been, especially considering how hot it is here. Very clean (they clean the rooms again every day), spacious and fresh. The staff is very friendly. Free water all the time!! (Please don't underestimate how important this is) Breakfast is huge, tasty and even interesting haha Price is reasonable. Very good location. Would come back here again for sure.

I loved my stay here. The breakfast was delicious — I noticed a lot of non-Asian guests mostly ask for toast, but the local rice option is incredibly good and super filling. The attendants were very helpful with questions. They very kindly allowed me to check in early and check out late as well (really helpful since I was catching a night bus). Location is good: there are a bunch of good restaurants within walking distance of this guest house. Rooms are generally clean, things just seemed a bit old if anything. Overall very pleased with my stay.
