La Maison Birmane Boutique Hotel - Say Yone Rd

I arrived at this boutique hotel and was delighted the moment I arrived. Each chalet has its own very private veranda, perfect for reading a book and relaxing after a hard day of sightseeing. La Maison Bir***e is located in a convenient location for restaurants, markets and close to docks.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. The chalet was of perfect simplicity and yet very cosy and well furnished. Especially the in room bathroom is worth mentioning. Breakfast was simple but of great quality as all the food served at the Maison birmane. If you go to Inle lake region, stay at this wonderful boutique hotel. Oh, I almost forgot: the food is organic from their own garden or from the local market.

We loved La Maison Bir***e. It's more upscale than most of the surrounding area and is secluded and quiet. We walked to the river to start our trip on the Lake and had a magical day. The breakfasts were a highlight with as ***y freshly made pancakes and eggs as you can eat plus toast jam and fried rice.

Right, so this place has very attentive staff especially the owner who greets her guests every morning and makes herself available to tend to their needs. However her recommendations aren’t always the best or the most cost effective. For example she sent us to Jasmine Spa which I gave a bad review on Google Maps. Another one is to the Hot Air Balloon festival in Taunggyi where we shared a car with another guest only to get there 5 hours before the actually festivities start (reason was traffic would be bad if we left. On the other hand the nearby restaurant she sent us to on the day of our arrival was lovely (although quite expensive). The taxis or private cars she arranges are also almost double of what you can get from a local travel agent near the Central Market. We also didn’t book with her for the Inle Lake tour because of the prices of a private boat tour we used Mr Ling’s Shared Boat Tour instead). As far as activities are concerned, I didn’t feel like I had much choices staying there was happier with the options available elsewhere (which needed some legwork). But for the convenience, she can make your stay rather seamless if you’re not too fussy. The rooms on the other hand are not designed for non-couples. Which is strange because bungalow were were in had two twin beds on either ends of the room. The bathroom and shower areas all have no doors and we had to repeatedly ask for them to put up a curtain (which they eventually did). Also the wall to the actual lavatory didn’t go all the way up... so can you imagine any unpleasant sounds and smells coming out from there while the other person is trying to rest? LOL So the bungalow isn’t for you if you’re shy with your room mate. Breakfast service was amazing and it was so nice to sit under the shade of the thatched or wooden roof. There were a couple other things that I didn’t mention here that were unpleasant. But those were quite personal and I don’t want to think about them any longer. This place is far from perfect but if you like being told what to do by the proprietor and charged luxury prices for okayish experiences with a lot of convenience... then book away!

The hotel is well situated within walking distance of the river and several Wats. Small restaurants with wonderful grilled fish and rice and noodle dishes and you couldn't spend $10 if you ate everything you could think of. Rooms are of the bungalow type with small verandas and very basically equipped. Be aware that it can be quite cold in the mornings and evenings but reaching over 30 degrees celsius in the daytime.

Had a very pleasant stay at La Maison Bir***e mostly because the accommodation was in a little bungalow with an outdoor deck. Everything in this small town is within easy walking distance with a number of decent restaurants minutes away, as well as bike hire. The hotel is within an easy stroll to the main street and very quiet in the evenings. Every bungalow has its own deck with chairs and has a huge ceiling. It's not often that you can feel so pampered but pay such a low price for the honor.

Located at the edge of the township, but within easy walking distance to the town centre. The staff were lovely, with their warm Myanmar welcome, service was excellent. We had the family room, photos are a true representation of what you book. Sleep quality was ok. Booked two tours through the hotel as they offered them on arrival. The first was the hiking tour and we loved it, highly recommend this one. The boat tour was average, as the guide didn’t speak English and just wanted to take us from one floating shop to the next. We would have preferred something more authentic to learn about the lake, etc. so do your research when booking this. Otherwise the boat ride on the lake was very cool. Would recommend staying here.

The best service and beautiful hotel We were staying 3 nights at the beautiful boutique hotel! The room is a lot of space, clean and lots of taste. The lady manager and staffs are willing to help, great service for boat, taxi, etc., Especially the breakfast, homemade jam, muffin (the best muffin) and good coffee. We ate the tapas and chocolate mousse, they are amazing. The hotel is not far from the town center and very relaxing for holidays. Nothing to say and we are highly recommended to this hotel.
