Nanda Garden Hotel - Bagan Nyaung U Main Road

Very nice staff, incredible breakfast and good and clean rooms

Extremely disappointed by this hotel. Bathroom has not been clean properly in ages, staff barely understands English and the breakfast is a disaster. One of the worst places I’ve seen in my travels to Asia so far.

Once this place gets wifi, it will be an ideal stay. The room is big, clean, and has hot water. The breakfast was large and tasty. They allowed me to check-in early after coming from the overnight bus. The location is just across the street from an e-bike rental place (8,000) and it is a straight path up the road to the main sights. Puppet show just around the corner each night and store and restaurant close by. My only issue with this place is that they did not have wifi, which I need for work, but they would not admit it. They give you the password as if it works, and it looks like it is available, but it is not actually connected to an outside source. Six times I asked them to fix it and the staff said to wait 5 minutes and they never followed up. One time the staff hooked my phone up to cell hotspot and tried to pretend like the wifi was working. I ended up checking out and going to one of the two hotels located next door, both of which had working wifi.

Love the garden- it has huge swings and puppies :) Staff are so nice. I fell sick as soon as I arrived, they took me to the pharmacy, then to the hospital when it got worse, cooked me special congee because my stomach was weak. Room is also in good condition. Only thing to improve is WiFi didn’t work ...

Nanda Garden Hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. I overall loved my stay in Bagan but a few tweaks to the hotel could have made it all the more enjoyable. Pros: The staff are lovely Gardens are beautiful and serene E-bikes on site Hot, powerful shower Good location for scooting around Bagan Cons: Sockets in room didn't work Room was only cleaned once in my week-long stay Position of shower head cannot be adjusted so it soaks everything from the toilet roll to your toothbrush.

This place has an amazing service and a very reasonable price of stay as well. The reception people were super helpful when i had to exchange some dollars into kyats, and even gave me a lift on his bike from the nanda hotel on main road!! the breakfast in this hotel is also quite grand, so many kinds of tasty burmese dishes and fruit. it has a nice minibar in the room which has reasonable prices as well. wifi is also good.

In short: Looks nice in the beginning, but is horrible in terms of sleeping! Pro: Beautiful garden and impressive breakfast room. Con: 1. Windows don't close tight.+ don't have mosquito net, so you always have a lot of mosquitos in your room. 2. Unfortunately extremely loud. Behind the hotel there is a plain area, where dogs gather in the night to bark and howl like wolfs (not kidding). At the same time there are currently (March 2020) construction works 3 meters from the rooms, because they build a new part of the hotel. Since it looks very unfinished this will surely take some more months and wake you up at 7:30 am. 3. The staff is overall nice, but only one of them + the manager are speaking ok English. These two are only there in the morning, so don't expect much help with some questions, which go beyond simple things. 4. My room had three additional "windows", one of them had glass in it. The problem: They don't turn of the light outside in the nighttime, so don't expect a dark room in the night, if you have one of the corner rooms. I helped myself with a folder I found in the room. 5. As mentioned by others: The Wifi is too slow for almost everything. --> Overall still way too expensive for what they offer!

Our stay was more than pleasant. The complementary breakfast was too good. For dinner, we tried a few nearby food stalls that were readily available at walking distance. We had a wonderful experience while staying at this hotel in Temple City of Bagan.
