showed up without booking (riding bicycle).before quoting me a price for the night.owner first asked where i was from and where i did stay the night before in order to evaluate how much she could request...not my kind of people/behaviour..after hesitation she quoted 100usd (the lodge was empty)..i offered 20000mmk..she denied so i left and end up sleeping under a tree that night.i found out later that there might be a cheaper option in the area.the place look nice.probably great for whealthy people who want to spend money and do not count... not cheap.not for backpackers

This is a very simple inn on the Southern Lake (south of Inle Lake about 2 hrs) in a charming remote village. The Lodge itself is a fantastic, characterful accommodation if you enjoy the idea of a remote destination. The bungalows are large, comfortable and designed in the local style with wonderful architectural detail inside; great bathrooms with large open showers and bountiful hot water. (I cannot speak for the rooms in the main building but that the building itself is dark and minimally furnished.) The restaurant is also simple but has a splendid open air terrace overlooking the lake and the food is well-prepared and staff eager, as helpful as can be given minimal level of English; the manageress, however, spoke quite well. There are pagodas to see in the village and the dawn chorus of roosters crowing was an unforgettable, other-wordly experience. But Sakar (also know as Samkar) is the easiest starting place for a visit to Takhaung Mwetaw (also known as Tarhaung) Pagodas which is exceptional: serene with a small temple and 100s of beautifully restored pagodas with myriad Buddhas and other devotional figures. With the sound of birdcall and the bells ringing atop the pagoda, the few devout locals at prayer and its lakeside setting (2 of the pagodas are actually in the lake!), this was among the most moving religious sites in our experience of 3 weeks traveling in Myanmar; especially marvelous if one can arrive early before larger tour groups. Thus the Little Lodge, just across the lake, is ideal for that purpose and memorable itself.

Can't vouch for the accommodation but I can say that these guys do the most wonderful food in an idyllic location. The upstairs dining room has 180 deg views of the lake and the mountains beyond. The Shan Noodles and tea leaf salad were the best we had. The staff were great and the guesthouse has an authentic and enchanting feel.

nice and clean, but very expensive for what it is ... 100 US$ per night - reasonable would be 40 in my opinion ... As soon as there will be more competition (new guesthouse at the jetty just opened!) they will lower their prices anyway. Lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Food was good but service very slow.

Beautiful and cosy place just 10 minutes walking from the Samkar jetty (follow the signs). Stylish wooden building with a restaurant on the terrace. Wide selection of dishes and drinks. The staff is very nice. We tried the tea leaf salad and it was excellent.
